As well as dramatically improving the aesthetics of a home, we work to eliminate deep-rooted problems and prevent other serious maintenance issues from developing in the future.  This approach offers our clients added value and ensures our refurbishments look great for as long as possible. One of the ways in which our team addresses these issues is by using a specialist biocide treatment. Incredibly effective both in the short and long term, the treatment can make a real difference to the finished look of your property. Here are some of the key benefits a biocide treatment offers. [![Contact Us](https://www.lti-transformations.co.uk/hubfs/1-Aug-09-2024-01-23-45-5205-PM.png)](https://www.lti-transformations.co.uk/contact-us) ## Kills Existing Contaminants One of the main reasons that we use a [masonry biocide treatment](https://www.lti-transformations.co.uk/exterior-wall-coatings), and a specialist product on roofs, is that they effectively remove any biological growth they come into contact with. As moss, algae and mould are responsible for a lot of the damage and discolouration that appears on your home. Killing these contaminants will improve the look of your property and stop them from harming the structure of the building. ## Prevents Future Growth Specialist biocide treatment for roofs and walls is formulated to create a hostile environment for biological matter. The product will soak into the surface of the masonry or tiles and stop mould, algae and moss from getting a foothold on your home. This will help to keep the surfaces free of organic growth for longer and help you maintain the look of your property for years to come. ## High Water Resistance A lot of [housing maintenance](https://www.lti-transformations.co.uk/blog/exploring-rough-cast-render-origins-durability-and-maintenance) revolves around keeping water out. If moisture gets into your home, it can cause a huge variety of problems including damp, staining, and rotten woodwork. The treatment we use when carrying out refurbishments acts as a waterproof barrier, stopping water penetration and dirt built up. It does this by producing a beading effect that keeps the roof looking newer for longer. ## UV Protection The sun can take a real toll on the look of a property, even in the UK, so it’s essential to protect your home from powerful UV rays. The treatments we use contain high-quality, light-fast pigments that ensure excellent colour stability, even when exposed to direct sunlight. Applying biocide treatments and specialist [exterior wall coatings](https://www.lti-transformations.co.uk/exterior-wall-coatings) allows our team to remove damaging biological matter present on the property and protect your home long-term. It also means we’re able to achieve a great finish and prevent future maintenance issues that can result from damp, mould, algae and moss.
